WHAT IGNITED THE SPARK IN YOU TO START SRISHTI VATAA HEALING ARTS?
In 2014 December, I was divinely guided to start an initiative called ‘Srishti Vataa Healing and Art Studio’ from the comfort of my home. I embarked on a self-awareness and self-discovery journey through Yoga. I adopted several other disciplines such as Chakra Therapy, Healing with Colors, essential Aromatherapy Oils, daily chanting of positive and life giving affirmations and thoughts, reading sacred texts and inspirational books. And then one fine day, in mid of June 2015, I happened to experience ‘The Spark’ during a reflective meditation session.
A lamp can serve as a guide and beacon to travelers on their journey & also helps in lightening other lamps in the process of being enlightened and destroys darkness.
Likewise, I was being prepared to become the spark that kindles the spirit of self -healing and inspiration through expressions, i.e., to ignite the spirit of courage, purity, gratitude, strength, freedom, and love by using symbols inspired by nature.
In Sanskrit, ‘Srishti’ means ‘Creation’ and ‘Vataa’ represents ‘space’ element out of the five elements according to Ayurvedic philosophy. So this is how ‘Srishti Vataa’ Healing Arts center was born. It is for individuals who would have the courage to explore their personal space for finding their creative & unique self-expression & identity to experience the Spark within and unlock their true potential.
WHAT IS YOUR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND WHICH COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COMPLETE YOUR STUDIES?
I had a graduation degree in Commerce and majored in Accounts from Mumbai University. I have done the Diploma in Information Systems from Aptech Computers Limited & recently completed an International Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology.
WHAT ARE THE TOP THREE ADVICE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO GIVE TO YOUNG GRADUATES WHO ASPIRE TO BECOME ENTREPRENEURS?
Follow your heart, not your mind for figuring out your true interest and passion.Once you find it, don’t let anyone dull the ‘Spark.’ There are too many distractions on this journey since you are on your own, so it’s important to stay focused and to not get bogged down, if things don’t work your way in the initial few months.

WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING THING RELATED WITH YOUR BUSINESS?
The most exciting part of our business is that we were able to cater individual’s unique needs. We were able to see them enriching their lives, go through career reinvention & simplify life’s complex situations; this gives us a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction!
Srishti Vataa is in a unique position, wherein we were able to address & help individuals in the matters of the mind, body, spirit through integrated holistic and expressive art based training, counseling and creative/agile coaching borrowed from design thinking. We also have healing art products for home decor to cater our client needs.
HOW DO YOU DO MARKETING ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS? WHAT HAS BEEN THE SUCCESSFUL FORM OF MARKETING?
I haven’t been aggressive on advertising and in our marketing strategy. Being an Ex-IBM Digital marketing consultant, I have leveraged multi-media marketing via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, e-mailers, Blogging, flyers, posters and social networking for my business. However, the most successful form has been e-mailers and client referrals. It works wonders when customers are happy to pass references when they see results.
CHALLENGES ARE BUNDLED UP ALONG ALL VENTURES, WHAT SORT OF CHALLENGES DID YOU FACE? HOW DID YOU MANAGE UPS AND DOWNS IN ROLLER COASTER RIDE?
There are tons of challenges but I’ll talk about top 3 key challenges.
1) The very first challenge was to make the plunge wholeheartedly on this journey. The question I asked three years before I made the decision. Fear of the unknown and ambiguity are the key impediments here.
2) Are you solving the real problem? Do you know the cause of the problem? Personal biases and assumptions that, we already know the solutions are one of the other challenges or trap one can get in. I think the better way is to seek to understand your client’s problems and providing value more than what you are paid.
3) Entrepreneurship v/s Passion trap. The third challenge is to assess whether you are into the venture or initiative for following your passion or hobby or for solving a larger problem at hand.
WHO IS YOUR MENTOR OR ROLE MODEL?
So many people who have influenced my career and life but my present mentor is Neeraj Khanna, Co-Founder at Spark Career Mentors and personal Role Model has always been my 85 years old wise Grandmother 🙂
BEING AN INDEPENDENT CONSULTANT WITH SPARKS CAREER MENTORS SINCE APRIL 2016, HOW DO YOU EMPOWER KIDS AND UNLOCK THEIR HIDDEN POTENTIAL?
It’s been an enriching journey at Spark. We work with teenage kids to help them discover their career potential by running psychometric assessments and proprietary tools and then assist them in a career exploration journey, i.e., to start researching streams and colleges and exploring jobs they would like to align to. During their journey, we guide and nudge them gently to discover their real interests, hobbies, and passion by undertaking various activities or start a venture or excel in their respective fields – Academic subjects / Sports or EC. We have seen them find the spark when a venture kicks off or their confidence levels soar when they see an activity giving them fulfillment and happiness. Finally, we help them work towards their holistic development and get into the right college to pursue the career of their choice.Shaping their future is shaping the future of the nation.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION COACH & REIKI MASTER & NLP PRACTITIONER? WHAT INSPIRED TO DO THIS?
It has been almost close to two years as a Reiki Master and Transformational Coach. I incorporate NLP in my personal life to constantly keep improving upon myself and my effectiveness. I believe in self-development and personal development. I have somewhere genuinely included & resonated with Mahatma Gandhi’s saying – “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
DO YOU WANT TO SUGGEST ANY BOOKS TO OTHERS FOR READING?
7 Habits of Highly effective people by Stephen Covey, Awaken the Giant within by Anthony Robbins, The leader with no title by Robin Sharma, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, What got you here, won’t get you there by Marshall Goldsmith
BIGGEST RISK YOU HAVE EVER TAKEN? HOW DID YOU MANAGE THAT RISK FACTOR?
The biggest risk I have taken is by quitting a very high paying cushy job at IBM. I was one of the few among my team members having critical business skills such as Digital Strategy, Entrepreneurship, Consultative Skills, Networking and Social Media Evangelism to climb the growth ladder. My spouse and I had life goals planned that factored for my sabbatical, career break and also by preparing my family mentally and emotionally. I had also explored the possible alternative careers and aspirational roles to fit into, talked to a lot of people in the industry before making the plunge. My husband supported me in making the final plunge.
Except for learning to cut down on frivolous expenses, planning travel/vacation than making impulsive decisions and monitoring savings closely, I do not feel I have made any sacrifices.I have been incredibly grateful to the ‘Almighty’ and I love what I do. As I read somewhere, if one feels that they have made personal sacrifices, then they are not enjoying what they are doing ,they should go back to their jobs/career in such cases. Entrepreneurship is all about making a ‘choice’ to make a difference not a sacrifice. There are sacrifices in the career/job – would like to say we hardly get ‘personal’ time off, it’s always tough to balance work and passion. Sometimes we don’t like what we are doing but still, do it because we feel we don’t have a choice.
IF YOU HAD GOT THE CHANCE TO START THE CAREER AGAIN, WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?
I would encourage others and myself to constantly be in touch with our inner selves and living our highest potential. I would be conscious of how much time I am giving to career v/s other areas of my life. It’s all about being empathetic, emotionally intelligent, a creative thinker, innovative and being agile ,so I would imbibe these traits, if I had re-start my career again. I would be open to feedback and learning than considering desired outcomes as failures. I would help as many colleagues find their true potential through counseling and coaching internally within the organization & leveraging my strengths.
HOW LONG DO YOU STICK WITH AN IDEA BEFORE GIVING UP?
Earlier I used to give up, with agile thinking and NLP but now I have refused to give up.I consider every feedback as a learning and step towards making progress.
